Our Story

Fairytales are in children's books. But this one wrote itself. And like most fairytales, some of this is just unbelievable. But truth can be stranger than fiction.
In December of 2012 Lindsay was introduced to Don through work. She was starting out in a new job and indirectly worked for Don. Later in 2013, she would give birth to her daughter Raelyn and leave her job. Because she was working for Don, they never interacted socially. Not to mention, there is a little bit of an age difference (in case you haven't noticed) and the two of them just went on with their lives.
Fast forward to 2019 and Don was once again in need of a new employee. Someone to manage his businesses. Lindsay reached out and within a week, she was managing his businesses. Like all relationships, this one started out as friends. And then life threw each of them curve balls. They found themselves single. From Don's perspective, he never looked at Lindsay in a romantic way. You would have to not have eyesight to not see her beauty. But Don is a few years older and this was not something he even thought about pursuing. Lindsay on the other hand, had her own ideas.
One day while in the office, Lindsay asked Don if they could talk. He brought her into the office and said, "Can we go out". Not realizing what she meant, Don said, "Sure, can you not tell me what you need to in the office?" Lindsay replied, "No, I mean out on a date." Taken aback, Don said no. For a variety of reasons, but he turned her down. Undeterred, Lindsay kept asking for about 3 months. Don finally gave into the pursuit and they went on that 1st date.
While everyone around them saw the age difference, they did not. The two of them together were a sight to behold. The happiness on both of their faces was evident. There was no turning back.

Fast forward 2 years and each looking for a change, they decided to move the blended family to Florida. A bed of roses it was not. Finding common ground of raising each others children takes time and energy. Each of them had that to give. It wasn't long after that Don decided to ask Lindsay to marry him. The challenge was trying to surprise her.

Finding common ground of raising each others children takes time and energy. Each of them had that to give. It wasn't long after that Don decided to ask Lindsay to marry him. The challenge was trying to surprise her.
Lindsay had set up a professional photographer to fly down from Atlanta and take family photos along with some photos of her and Don alone. Day one of the photo shoot would just be the two of them. Don knew the plan so he reached out to the photographer and told her his plan of asking her to marry him. She was all in! Don then got his son Connor to carry out the next part of the surprise. He drew up a plan of candles, champagne and tiki torches on the beach and he did this flawlessly. As they walked up the beach they came upon this romantic setting of 100 candles shaped like a heart and a walkway leading up to that heart. Don walked her down the path and into the heart and into each other's hearts forever.
